Got a good start on this, and need to pick those clever Mudcat brains for some more inspired verses...think Julio and Willie, and go to it!

And so on...it really isn't hard to satirize this song. In fact, the bridge was so cool I just left it as it was...it can't really be improved upon, in my opinion.

I like to sing it sounding exactly like Julio, with that sincere and tender vibrato he does. Remember Steve Dallas singing Julio in the shower? Stirring stuff, baby! Ay! Mi amor! Mi Corazon!

Sorry, LH, but I just can't do parodies of songs that I hate. I generally do like Willie, but that particular song gives me the shits.

"Een Lorve", by Australian songwriters Alan Caswell & Doug Ashdown is a brilliant send-up of Julio's boasting.
I recorded an edited version in a medley, and can't recall where you'd find the original

They did a parody of TAtGILB on Prairie Home Companion some years ago that I really enjoyed; here's the verse I can remember:
