Subject: BS: Colin Blakemore - No honours From: harlowpoet Date: 24 Dec 03 - 01:10 PM Its been reported this week that professor Colin Blakemore, who is head of the Medical Research Council in Britain, has been passed over in the new years honours list, because of his controversial work on vivisection. He has been harping on about this in the press, and threatening to resign his post. I say good. The man should be sacked, prosecuted for cruelty to animals and put away for a number of years. In case anyone is not aware, a few years ago he published scientific papers of his experiments in which healthy kittens were blinded, supposedly in research of sightlessness. It is common sense, that you will not make sick humans healthy, by making healthy animals sick. Hippocrates said this a long time ago with the maxim 'First, do no harm'. I'm sure by starting this thread, there will be a lot of debate, so for now, I'll also quote George Bernard Shaw on the matter 'Those who do not hesistate to vivisect, will not hesitate to lie about it.' |

Subject: RE: BS: Colin Blakemore - No honours From: GUEST Date: 25 Dec 03 - 12:13 PM What makes a bunch of white coated people in laboratories exempt from the rules of normal civilised society? Did God leave a void in his splendid creation, for the vivisectors to fill??? I doubt it highly |

Subject: RE: BS: Colin Blakemore - No honours From: GUEST,Van Date: 25 Dec 03 - 03:06 PM Why did he expect an honour anyway. Actors and other useless nonces get a few letters after their names for being good at what they enjoy and may be good at doing and other punters who spend their lives working hard to ensure people are cared for, have safer more secure lives etc. just get their pay - usually the more necessary the task the less that pay is. Sir Mick F'ing Jagger give us a break what about a knighthood for Robert Johnson and all the others who inspired him or who's lyrics he recycled. Some posh twat gets to the top of his tree, probably no longer sullies his white coat, then gets pissed off because he doesn't get Knighted! I bet he has a lot more in the bank from his sadistic efforts than we have. Why don't all of us who pick up an instrument or warble the odd song or just rejoice in the love of music hand each other a title - the Count of Basey did it. |

Subject: RE: BS: Colin Blakemore - No honours From: harlowpoet Date: 26 Dec 03 - 04:31 AM Ok John Tell me how kiling a thousand kittens is going to save a baby? Name one experiment, in full detail, that has lead to a cure for a particular disease, and explain how. I find it amazing that parents are prepared to leave their childrens health in the hands of those people who carry out unbelievable levels of cruelty. And yes animal cruelty is a diagnostic sympton of mental illness. Their experiments are also regulated by viviectors as well, who as 'experts' also advise the governement. Next time you get your medicine pack from the chemist, look at the smal print to find the myriad of diseases you may get from taking it. Of course they'll have treatments for them too.and it all ££££££$$$$ $$$$ for the vivs, the drugs companies etc. Of course if you let them give your children their foul concoctions, its like hiring king Herod as the babysitter. |

Subject: RE: BS: Colin Blakemore - No honours From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 30 Jun 04 - 11:28 PM not sure about kittens, but insulin, heart valves etc all come from animals, in fact EVERY drug [perscription only, or over the counter] has been tested on animals. anyway=if your son was dying and they had a drug that might save him, but had been tested on animals, would you consent to them trying it? if you answer no, your either mad, or talking shit. |

Subject: RE: BS: Colin Blakemore - No honours From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 30 Jun 04 - 11:35 PM qoute="name one experiment that has lead to a cure for a disease and how" EVERY known cure for every disease currently been treated has been tested on animals, ie every cure that works has been tried on animals, it has to be, its the law. Qoute="this man should be sacked, prosecuted, and locked away for many years" Why? He's a doctor doing research. |
