Thank you, Janet. I think that given this thread was started by another troll, that this is the place we can hash out whatever you want to hash out. I will not respond to you when you try to hijack others threads, but I will be happy to have it out with you here.

So answer me a question. If your intent is honorable, then why do you post under several names and sometimes set up questions, and then answer them yourself?

You try to make my status as a clone the issue, but I only point out when you are up to hijinks. What bothers you is that you can't insult people in anonymity, right?

Is that rec.music.folk where the trolls hang out when they aren't here? Is that where the Silly Season planning takes place? Seems there is a crowd of usual suspects who suddenly start posting with some synchronicity-- people who don't post about anything at all for long stretches, then they turn up here with some kinda hair across their collective and individual asses.

Dear DaisyMay - you're exposing yourself. I was addressing Janet Ryan and didn't so much as mention any other guests in this thread. Harpgirl wasn't referring to a guest in her 'Ohio' comment.

I know for sure who Matty Groves was. I saw the thread in RMF. You can't really be anonymous in Usenet (or e-mail lists, for that matter) unless you're willing to go to extreme lengths and he posted some stuff with his real name. Easy to compare headers to see if they match. People who do this sort of stuff inevitably think they're smarter than the people they're slagging off (or their friends) and won't get caught. They're usually wrong.

As to that 'rising above the flaming' thing, it might have worked if people didn't enjoy it so much. It's like having a bit of a rumble without the chance of physical harm. Of course, if people find themselves getting emotionally injured, it's probably not a good activity. I was frustrated because I saw what I thought was people getting hurt. Now, I know that being involved in this sort of thing is a choice. I just don't have the interest or time needed for an extended sparring match.

I have no idea WHY they think it will JUST MAKE US eat those bitter tasting Mudcat cookies, because of course, it never does.
