They played the 1997 David Segal movie (incidentlly, he appears to play the guitar!) 'Fire Down Below' tonight - quite an impressive list of 'Appalchian' songs - end titles were over "Paradise" by John Prine - I know most of the songs but can anybody get me a list - it spools past too fast for me to remember it - looked at Allmovie.com, but could not see a song track list or list of artists.

Robin,

Thats Steven Segal, the great actor. Actually a skilled Akido Master.
Bad as his movies are I like them because they show his fighting as not elegant, no dance moves, he just gets the job brutally done.

And I like that film for the sound track and because Marg Helgenberger is in it. Love redheads.

Also in the film was actor/ songwriter Kris Kristoferson, Levon Helm, actor and drummer from "The Band" and Harry Dean Stanton, character actor.

Some of it was shot in Knott County, Kentucky, and the best thing about it was the scenery.

Seagal, Levon Helm and native Kentuckian Stanton formed a trio who regularly met in several late-night jam sessions at Seagal's location house during filming breaks, where they (each strumming a six-string) improvised songs for the film's soundtrack.

There is nothing useful on the movie site - there is a non-working link to an alleged soundtrack site. Looked at Amazon - the alleged CD tracklist has songs that were not in the movie (and stated thus so!), and is missing some songs that I remember were in the movie - including "Paradise".
