Subject: Lyr Add: SAD MOVIES (John D Loudermilk) - & parody
From: Jim Dixon
Date: 16 Jan 04 - 11:23 PM

Here's the original:

SAD MOVIES (ALWAYS MAKE ME CRY)
John D. Loudermilk
As recorded by Sue Thompson, 1961.

Sad movies always make me cry.

Said he had to work so I went to the show alone.
They turned down the lights and turned the projector on,
And just as the news of the world started to begin,
I saw my darling and my best friend walk in.

So I was sitting where they didn't see,
And so they sat right down in front of me,
And when he kissed her lips, I almost died,
And in the middle of the color cartoon, I started to cry.

Ooh, sad movies always make my cry.
Ooh, sad movies always make my cry.

And so I got up and slowly walked on home.
My mama saw the tears and asked, "What's wrong?"
And so to keep from telling her a lie,
I just said, "Sad movies always make me cry."

Ooh, sad movies always make my cry.
Ooh, sad movies always make my cry.
Ooh, sad movies always make my cry.

Subject: Lyr Add: BAD MOVIES (from Homer & Jethro)
From: Jim Dixon

Here's the parody, copied from

BAD MOVIES (ALWAYS FRACTURE ME)
As recorded by Homer & Jethro

I watched Jack Paar and all of the TV shows,
Layin' on my back, and a-peepin' out between my toes.
And then a western movie filled the screen.
It was the oldest and the worst one, I had ever seen.

The cowboy star was a guy named Cactus Jack,
And he quit punchin' cows, 'cause the cows kept punchin' back.
Although the film was blurred, I could have swore
Instead of ridin' on a horse, he was ridin' on a dinosaur.

Bad movies always fracture me.
Bad movies always on TV.

One-armed Pete come ridin' across the Rio Grande
With a great big forty-five in either hand.
The commercial came on and poor old Pete got shot
Between the weather report and underarm deodorant spot.

Bad movies, always fracture me
Bad movies, always on TV.

Well, I giggled and I tittered, and I laughed until I cried.
Then Mama come in and sat down by my side.
She said, "What's ailin' you, you little creep?"
I told her, "Bad movies always make me weep."

[As recorded by Homer & Jethro on "Homer & Jethro at the Convention,"
RCA Victor LPM/LSP-2492 (1962).]

Hi Jim

I just want to ask you something as I saw you are very active on the mudcat...
I'm looking for the lyrics of a Bert jansch's song "Tell me what is true love?" (Rosemary lane). I can't find them anywhere (and I'm not good enough at speaking English to transcribe them from listening)

Could you help me????
