Subject: RE: BS: Snur on rurd From: greg stephens Date: 27 Jan 04 - 06:39 PM A reasonable fall on Stoke. Snowballing occurred on the walk back from the Jolly Potters on Hartshill. Thank God we are safe home now, and there is food in the house. A sack of potatoes (one third full) and a bottle of Croft Original(ditto) should see us through till spring if we are snowed in. |

Subject: RE: BS: Snur on rurd From: GUEST,MMario Date: 28 Jan 04 - 11:16 AM snow well over my knees this am in spots; about 8 inches fresh overnight - had to push car to get it out of the drive - just enough ice under the snow to be unable to get traction until out on the sanded road. with wind-chill temperature feels about -14F; actual temperature about 4F. Practically balmy compared to recent weather - more expected tonight. What do people consider "deep snow"? - in this neck of the woods it would have to be a couple feet. |

Subject: RE: BS: Snur on rurd From: Geoff the Duck Date: 28 Jan 04 - 02:36 PM Waste of time - I say... Half an inch at 11pm last night. Frozen solid by morning. Molly and Rowan were so eexcited - Look! It's Snowing.... Drizzle half of the morning followed by fluffy stuff at Dinnertime plus SLUSH. Daddy - WHERE'S ALL THE SNOW GONE??? |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Snur on rurd From: Geoff the Duck Date: 28 Jan 04 - 02:40 PM Slush froze by teatime, with whatever dry snow managed to settle (about 1/4 inch for those in metric). Now the weathermen say the winter has passed its peak, so there won't be any more! So I expect I'd best buy some new wellies and a snow shovel - we'll probably have 6ft by Thursday... Quack!! Geoff (p.s.- I can't do the 'Ull accent) |
