Subject: RE: Review: fairport convention From: Arnie Date: 07 Feb 04 - 03:24 PM I was hoping for some feedback as this thread suggests - I've got tickets for their Canterbury gig on Feb 18th. As Fairport are usually ace I'm not too worried about lack of pre-information but has anyone seen them on this tour and if so, who's in the line-up this year??? |

Subject: RE: Review: fairport convention From: Liz the Squeak Date: 08 Feb 04 - 04:33 AM Well, Manitas and I saw a poster advertising this tour last week, we both agreed that even the whippersnapper is starting to look his age, but when we compared it to the Dubliners publicity poster, they all look like teenagers. Subject: RE: Review: fairport convention From: snake19 Date: 11 Feb 04 - 06:31 AM Well i thought it was very good,Simon and Dave are as good as they ever were in the sixties. The drummer Gerry Conway was a amazing and Chris on fiddle and mandolin was out of this world. Finally RIC saunders was hit hot on fiddle.Brilliant concert with songs from the sixties upto the new album which is not released yet.It was definately worth going and see and watch them play for over 2 hours. Hope thats what you wanted to hear. |
