Anyone remember a song called Word Up? From the sixties, I think - I associate it with Desmond Dekker, but I'm not sure if that's just my mind playing some kind of associative tricks. I have the feeling that it was banned by the BBC because Word Up meant something rude.

I don't know if it's what you are looking for, but Word Up was a hit for Cameo in the late 1980s (not really a folk or blues number!)
