Subject: Acoustic Workshop Radio - Heather & Paul From: Arnie Naiman Date: 30 Mar 04 - 08:34 AM We were driving down to Ken Whitetley's to talk about a future recording project and I turned on Rick's show and there you were Heather Fielding and Paul Mills. What a great show (what I heard of it) playing music and stories of Mudcatters. I got to hear Balladeer, Art Thieme, Kendall , and Curly Boy himself -(wonderful clean guitar work and the fiddler Don Reed (hope I got his name right) is very tasteful. I loved his fiddle breaks on Rick's new CD. There's a lot of great talent on this list - I wonder what I missed? Incidently you were both very excellent radio hosts last night - great interview Heather with Paul regarding his own recording project! Hope to tune in often - keep up the good work - Rick approves. Cheers, Arnie |

Subject: RE: Acoustic Workshop Radio - Heather & Paul From: Jeri Date: 30 Mar 04 - 05:22 PM And Curly Boy's looking for CD title suggestions. It was a great show that focused on communities and circles of people, and last night it was Mudcatters, some of whom are Toronnians. Personally, I thought it was wonderful to hear "Rick Fielding's Acoustic Workshop" back on the air and likely to stay there. |

Subject: RE: Acoustic Workshop Radio - Heather & Paul From: GUEST,Big Mick in Toronto Date: 24 Aug 04 - 02:09 AM Also in the studio was Marion, Mose Scarlett, and Jeri. Thanks be that they were there. It made things easier, having such good friends for moral support. I have such admiration for Heather. She carries this on, despite the fact that it is a constant reminder. And she does it so well. The facts are that Rick left his legacy in very capable hands. I am so blessed to have her as a friend. After the show we adjourned to the home of Paul and Bev Mills for some vino and tunes. One day I will write of the magic that occurs when such talent comes together for no other purpose than to love and celebrate the music. Suffice it to say that it was pure D magic. About the Toronto folkies, well ... what does one say?? They have taken me in, and blessed me with friendship and song. Every time we gather in Paul and Bev's backyard, or Rick and Heather's, the level of music, and the level of good feelings is raised. At this moment, I am at a loss to explain what I heard, and felt, over this 5 days. But I shall never be the same, thanks be to God. And thanks be to Max, for giving us the Mudcat. Mick |
