Subject: RE: BS: The Unsinkable Gigantic From: Gareth Date: 03 Apr 04 - 06:18 PM Nice try Donuel, and I don't fault your artwork. But White Star, by the way with American Ownership, ordered three ships to the same design. "Titanic" "Olympic" and "Gigantic" following the loss of "Titanic" the hull destined for the name of "Gigantic" was renamed "Brittanic" "Brittanic" was lost due to a mine in the Eastern Meddirrannean in 1916, whilst sereving as a hospital ship, fortuately with a small loss of life. A Violet Jessup (IIRC) a stewardess on the "Titanic", was serving on the "Brittanic" as a nurse. She survied the "Brittanic" sinking, despite the lifeboat she was in capsising on launch. I respectfully suggest that this would make a better film than the recent crap we have had c/o Hollywood. Gareth "And remember "Herman the "Bismarks Cat" |

Subject: RE: BS: The Unsinkable Gigantic From: Blackcatter Date: 04 Apr 04 - 09:20 AM Didn't Violet Jessup also ride on the Olympic at one point? There was a TV show on PBS about it a few years back. I think there was a previous thread concerning it. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Unsinkable Gigantic From: Charley Noble Date: 04 Apr 04 - 02:37 PM That's an awesome image, our ship of state, soon to be warped out into the great Potomac. I do hope they keep a sharp watch, for falling cows and other more predictible threats. Cheerily, Charley Noble |

Subject: RE: BS: The Unsinkable Gigantic From: EBarnacle Date: 05 Apr 04 - 03:37 PM Ya gotta work somewhere... Are there sufficient lifeboats for all the rats of all descriptions? |
|
Subject: RE: BS: The Unsinkable Gigantic From: Chief Chaos Date: 05 Apr 04 - 03:42 PM Unfortunately there are. All lined with Gold, Satin, and silk courtesy of the tax payer. And if you've ever been to the potomac in that area there are enough accesses to the sewer system for them when the lifeboat makes it ashore. How freakin poetic we are. |
