Subject: Folklore: Easter (afterbirth) From: v Date: 12 Apr 04 - 05:06 AM ok i've joined mudcat, and my work is cut out for me, what with all these threads to read and what have you... but, i just realized that it's Easter, celebrating the rebirth of the soul after death, and i've just been treated to a paranormal experience which exactly proves that! I hadn't made the connection before now. i just don't understand any of it - life, talent, inspiration, "why bad things happen to good people", death, karma, and ESPECIALLY I don't ken when things happen which defy modern physics! Playing music - to me - is contingent on a balanced bicycle ride between discipline, and letting go of left-brained activities. Like meditatio it only works when one's heart is open and one's mind is on vacation (not *gone*, just away visiting elsewhere). Where do we go after we die??? Is it the same place we visit when we are able to release our cognition of suffering and daily concerns? When we play inspired music, or paint some creation from another dimension? I shall now go research Mary McLaughlin's 'Daughter Of Lir' and buy it, as it is a great CD, and I had taped it when I was being a dj for community radio, but it suddenly disappeared. Like tithing, it's the least I can do to keep up the Spirit! all my best, valerie |

You certainly have jumped in with both feet in asking a question the answer to which may even be the glib 42. I wish I knew what it really is. Ceud mille failte John |

Subject: RE: Folklore: Easter (afterbirth) From: v Date: 16 Apr 04 - 05:57 AM Thankyou John - are you scottish? I appreciate being welcomed here by you, it means a lot. sure - i jumped in with both feet; how could i *help* it??? i was treated to a paranormal experience which somewhat freaked me out! i had to say somethin to somebody, just a "reality check"... I hope we have a lot of meaningful things to say to each other in the future. all my best, valerie |

Subject: RE: Folklore: (afterbirth) 42 From: v Date: 16 Apr 04 - 06:06 AM Dear John, et al... 42 is as meaningful as I dare to get! It's a great "rote answer" for everything, and - as my questions about life after death are not likely to be answered, since no one knows, I appreciate the 42 reference because it helps me see the absurdity in these endless, unanswerable questions. right on, valerie |

" i was treated to a paranormal experience which somewhat freaked me out!" "i had to say somethin to somebody, just a "reality check"..." Welcome Valerie, if you care to expand/expound, could you tell us more about your para-normal experience? we are not too keen on reality here.. it might not be an accurate "check" but might find we do the "para" part better than the "normal" . IF you really need to check reality, this might not be the right place! I am a community radio programmer, too. enjoy your new found friends here--you might find us para normal too! |

Subject: RE: Easter (afterbirth) From: Amos Date: 16 Apr 04 - 07:24 PM Valerie: We don't all go somewhere when we die. It kind of depends on a number of individual factors. If you're smart, you choose a favorite place that you loved and felty safe in, such as a favorite cove or hill, and go there until the shock wears off. Or yoou may find your self plummeting willy nilly into a three-D full color dramatization of your favoritew myth. Or you may compulsively grab hell-for-leathewr into the next body you can get a handle on, whether it is the right sort for you or not -- anything not to feel so naked! :>) Other folks just sort of hang around feeling dark and sad and acting ghosdtly for a while or trying to sort out the trauma or shock of violence or whatever. So it depends. So what was your experience? And, by the way, welcome to the Mudcat! A |
