I wonder what the mudcatters think of the new song for England in the Euro 2004 Football - Altogether Now

My memories of this song when it was released was that the Gulf War was happening. The song had an eerie and chilling feel to it, as we didn't know what to expect and we were sending our troops into no mans land..

It was originally inspired by the unofficial armistice on the Western Front on Christmas Day 1914, which saw British and German troops play a game of football in no-man's land.

I personally don't think this song is appropriate.

For info
England's Euro 2004 song faces stiff competition
England's official anthem for this summer's European Championships goes on general release on Monday.
The song, a new version of the Farm's 1990 hit single All Together Now, has been reworked by DJ Spoony and the St Francis Xavier (SFX) Boys Choir.

It has been a hit twice before, hitting number four on its original release and number 24 when recorded by Everton FC for the 1995 FA Cup Final.

The Football Association chose the song to encourage good behaviour

I'm getting in the mood already. If you were fantasy football hooligan, who would you beat up to this musical accompaniment?

Might have potential if performed by six bearded men in fancy waistcoats with string tied round their knees to a triangle and hurdy-gurdy arrangement?

Anyone got the lyrics? (The only quote I've seen from them seems to suggest they might actually be quite good.)
