Subject: RE: Folklore: Allans Tyneside Songs Now all on line! From: Q Date: 21 Jul 04 - 02:02 PM Well-organized and attractive! It will take a while to go through the material! Doesn't seen to bother anything, but I get the message Plugin Error- "An error occurred inside a plug-in contained on this page." Going on to one of the songs, I got it again, with "Cappy's the Dog." Everything looked OK and clicks for the midi and notation both worked. The message comes again when I return to the main menu. ?? |

Subject: RE: Folklore: Allans Tyneside Songs Now all on line! From: Dave Sutherland Date: 21 Jul 04 - 05:14 PM Although it breaks my heart to post it:- Tune "Blaydon Races" "We went to Wembly Stadium all on the seventh of May, Nineteen hundred and seventy four all on a Saturday, We showed the Cockneys how to fight, we showed them how to sup, The only thing we didn't do was win the F.A.Cup" (and again in 1998 and 1999) |

Subject: RE: Folklore: Allans Tyneside Songs Now all on line! From: Q Date: 22 Jul 04 - 03:07 PM All the midis work fine- the message probably is a left-over, the result of replacing a previous version sometime in the past. I just ignore it and go on. (When I link to Acrobat I get a message that I need an update. I have the update and and have no problem reading the text- just the ghost of the old version sends a message from the graveyard. Why ? Dunno. Just means another click on the mouse.) Anyhow, thanks for a grand site. Something wrong with Big Pink's language. Would any Tynesider use "aesthetically challenged"? I'm sure the phrase would be more pithy. |

Subject: RE: Folklore: Allans Tyneside Songs Now all on lin From: *#1 PEASANT* Date: 22 Jul 04 - 04:02 PM I think maybe not enough naked women in the pages! There is an entire directory of all the sangs so go there and once loaded in the browser you can pick up any song content with a browser search page for.... I will soon have all the songs in a text format for fast wondrous search of everything. Eventually I will update the names places etc.... segments Of course we here are about lyrics and tunes not so much about graphics so I keep the pages a bit plain of them so they loads fast... The largest selection of transcribed N>E> songs on line. and more to come.... maybe 50 or so.....are planned before end of summer puts me back to the streight and narrow path. I will talk about the collection anywhere - you pay transport and hospitality.... Conrad |
