The surgery was yesterday, was out of the hopsital by 11 AM....today, some stiffness and a bit of pain, but not needing pain meds at all! And, the numbness/tingling is ALL gone! Whoopppeeee!!! Thanks, friends. I appreciate all your good thoughts, etc.

Glad to hear it! Actually, just seeing the subject line (thread title) said it all.

Isn't Same-Day-Surgery wonderful? Years ago, even the simplest operation required a week-long hospital stay. I've had a couple of those in-and-out procedcures this year, and found each to be a "piece of cake."

UDATE:
Well, I was doing fine....3 AM woke up in severe pain...got worse on Wed....started the heavy duty pain pills again. Mind, Mr was looking at this twice a day and telling me it was just fine. Figured I had done something on Tues that I shouldn't have. Soooo, Friday afternoon I came down to Ft Collins to see daughter and go to Highland games to meet Seamus.

Asked Kate to look at my neck. I was convinced it was infected. She looked at it an said, Yup...Big Time. I find it hard to believe that at 50 my husband doesn't know what infection looks like.

So, called the Dr, aat least he's in Ft Collins, told him the deal, he perscribed antibugotics, where did I want them sent? No clue me so Kate asked her MIL...she gave the name of one....Doc said OK...
Doc calls me back and says, they are closed, now what do I do?

Asked who stayed open late...Walgreen's about 7 miles across town. Drove there, stayed another hour trying to get my Ins. to recognize me at a different pharmacy...found out that for the last 18 years the Ins has had my BD wrong.....FINALLY GOT THE FECKIN' MEDS!

So, we've cleaned it up with alcohol, put a antibugotic onintment on it and a horse pill down my throat. Oh, yes and hot packs.

NOT quite what I had planned for Friday night. Just wait til I get home and he gets a piece of my mind. All the pain and soreness is from the infection, NOT because I did something stupid.

Thank goodness Kate recognized it and I didn't wait until the post op check up on Tuesday next. I would have been in big time bad shape.

Betadine will sometimes work better than smothering it with antibiotic ointment...had a vet tell me that about cat scratches On cats and on humans) and it works a treat, but best if you catch it early for it to do its best.

Sorry I haven't checked in...been to Estes Park to see Seamus. He was fabulous as always. Home now, no fever, just beat. Going to bed real soon.

PS--It's better than it was. The Eryc and topical AB are working on it. Still sore as hell.
