This Thursday on Folk Roots/Folk Branches, my guest will be Judy Collins, one of the most compelling and influential singers of the past 40+ years. She returns to Folk Roots/Folk Branches in the first part of a conversation recorded on August 28 at the Ottawa Folk Festival.

The second part of the conversation will be heard on September 23.

There will be lots of other folk-rooted and folk-branched music on the show before and after the visit with Judy.

Folk Roots/Folk Branches airs Thursday mornings from 9-11:30 on CKUT at 90.3 FM in Montreal. It's available on the web as a live stream, or archive for two months, from the Folk Roots/Folk Branches site.

Mike Regenstreif

Me too. Judy Collins #3 was my first folk album so many years ago and I was delighted to find the new double CD with The Judy Collins Concert recently.

Goody! I get to lead the local children's choir for her Christmas concert this December- I'm so excited to be on the same stage with one of my early heros! I'll be sure to listen in to the archive when it's available!

Thanks for the heads-up!

Allison

A fine program all around. The trilogy of 9/11 songs near the end was very moving.

Outstanding interview. I heard about 25 minutes of it, via web, until I left for work (work!?). While I an happy that she has released her earliest albums on CD, I really much prefer vinyl when possible. I would not call her a folk singer these days; she is much more, and still my favorite for lo these 40+ years.---John
