Ah, you don't want to send physical 'tapes' - you want to send 'sound files'.

I'm sure others will be more helpful, but if you could give a little more info, we could probably help you more...

Do you both have compatible machines - i.e. PC, Mac, what version operating systems etc.

There are many formats for sound files, some take up much more size than others, and not all formats may play on various machines without getting particular software.

Also trying to send the resultant very large files by email may cause problems, as some ISPs, or email packages may have limits of the size of files attached - you may have to split a file into bits and reassemble it at the other end - if the receiver is not very technical, this may be difficult.

Another place where you can upload your files and give your sister the addy where she can listen to them is at www.mydocsonline.com.I think there is a small fee, but you dont' have to keep up with it if you don't use it all that often, plus you have control over who can actually acces the files. (And the folks there are really nice!) Aine and I have traded sound files this way several times.

mp3?
yes, as robin said, you need to comnpare hardware, software, and
formats to make sure you have compatible systems...
or you could join us on paltalk and sing in the room,
and she could log in at the same time and listen and
record on the other end...even with a tape player...
or if you have a recording program on your computer..
i am sure there are threads about this on mud cat in
the forum...good luck! if you can't figure out how to send
in e-mail, maybe you CAN send a tape or c.d. thru the mail.

Of course you could always send her an actual tape in a padded envelope (or turn it into a homemade CD).
