I just wanted to say hello to everybody. This forum is really cool, interesting, funny. Although I do not really care for most kinds of folk music, I love the people who play it, or at least I appreciate their opinions. You're a great bunch. And thanks for the entertainment, especially now during the dark winter months. That's all I have to say for now ;-)

Cool name. I have two nieces named Zoe and Xena. If my sister-in-law decides to have another, I will suggest Zelda.

Mudcat is not always cool but it is addictive and its better than FOX news.

Thanks for the friendly welcome. I live in Luxembourg and I am mainly a brassplayer (playing cornet & flugelhorn in a brass quintet). A few years ago I took up the wooden flute in order to play irish trad. Unfortunately there is not much of a folk scene here, so I almost gave up the flute.

You could try moving north a little. Belgium seems to have a thriving folk scene in parts, although how much is local and how much is from other folk cultures I'm not sure.

In tme meantime keep checking this site. Some of the people here are quite sane and sensible some of the time, absolute founts of knowledge on all sorts of subjects and user friendly. Not only that, but if you are feeling down just read anything posted by Sir jOhn9 from Hull and then join in the lunacy. It aint always folk but it is always fun.
