there is a new net-based 'radio station' called The Acoustic Stage playing a wide range of acoustic music.

My reason for mentioning is that RHYZOME are currently on their playlist

Listening now, great playlist and very good sound - even on my snail-like pc! Thanks.

Listening to Dylan's Hattie Carroll, just confirmed my belief that the harmonica was recorded way too loud in those early recordings....oh my eardrums! Or is that just me?

This station is an extraordinary mix of the astonishingly good, contrasted with a (for me) far too generous mix of truly appalling, whingeing and wailing singer-songwriters. It has had me, alternately, leaping to reorder online stuff I'd forgotten was so good or else to kill yet another replay of the likes of Hewerdine, Griffiths, Orton or Wainwright.

There are no ads and, best of all, no talking at all. Suggestion for improvement? All the Acoustic Rock Singer Songwriters to be corralled together and played at some prenotified time...

Point taken. We can't promise to banish all ARSS (nice term), but there will be slightly less over the coming weeks, as our music library grows.

If there are any dance bands out there, see our homepage - we need more music for our Virtual Ceilidh on New Year's Eve.
