Hello all,
Anyone fancy putting a band together for fun? I play guitar , some fiddly fingerpicky stuff and a bit of Irish trad on flute and can sing a bit when pressed and would really like to get together with some keen persons to work up a few tunes together. Repertoire to be decided according to the tastes of those interested, I like Irish dance music, American ragtime and medieval and renaissance music as well as most regular folk. Murder ballads too! Professional standard not required, willing to learn on the job, start the new year with a new project! I am easy to work with and do not throw creative tantrums, ask Jacqui C or Lanfranc they will assure you I am housetrained. Post or pm me if interested or if you know anyone else who fancies being in a folky band and maybe hasn't been before, thanks all, Eleanor

Well just refreshing this message now everyone has finished scoffing and opening their presents.....come on folks let's start the new year with a new band, did anyone get a shiny new banjo/harp/lute/harmonica/bagpipes for christmas?

St Albans is not that far from Hertford.

Why not come and play us a few tunes on Sunday 9th Jan at our re-opening evening at the Spotlight where Thorn and Roses, Cornwall's answer to Coope Boyes and Simpson, will be the main guests.

Everyone gets a floor spot as long as they arrive in time, we open at 7.30.

sometimes I play outside Waitrose in Hertford!!

Why Waitrose not Tesco? Some brand loyalty thing?Lets see if I can spot you ....

Berlin is an effort to drum up some trade for my waxworks. And otherwise enjoy ourselves. I am tempted to try & find a Schwegelpfeiffe to shock the next Session with.

Still seeking band members! I have had one nice volunteer with some cool suggestions, anyone else want to join in? Maybe someone with a fiddle/accordian/pipes (anything actually , and I'm not requiring 50 years experience and a back catalogue of 20 CDs 'cos I've not got a track record meself really)
