Subject: RE: Carnival Band near Gainsborough Friday From: Rasener Date: 10 Feb 05 - 12:41 PM Is it alright if I bring some LENTil soup? Can anybody tell me what sort of music we can expect? Are they a steel band? |
|
Subject: RE: Carnival Band near Gainsborough Friday From: PoppaGator Date: 10 Feb 05 - 12:55 PM I suppose LENTil soup is appropriately penitential. ;^) However: If you really did up Carnival right, on the appointed dates, you'd be too exhausted to party this week, whether or not you seriously observe Lent. As a strong supporter of the "Mardi Gras All Year Long!" concept, I can hardly disapprove of this party on this or any weekend. I was simply surprised and taken aback to see this announcement of a gig by "The Carnival Band" when I fired up my computer on Ash Wednesday morning, when everyone in my corner of the world was shakily recovering from the just-completed Carnival season. |
