The Carnival Band (Henry VIII's rock'n'roll band) will be appearing at Corringham Village Hall near Gainsborough on Friday evening. Concert starts at 8pm and tickets are £6 and we are going to have a great night! Come and join us.

Is it alright if I bring some LENTil soup?

Can anybody tell me what sort of music we can expect? Are they a steel band?

I suppose LENTil soup is appropriately penitential. ;^)

However: If you really did up Carnival right, on the appointed dates, you'd be too exhausted to party this week, whether or not you seriously observe Lent.

As a strong supporter of the "Mardi Gras All Year Long!" concept, I can hardly disapprove of this party on this or any weekend. I was simply surprised and taken aback to see this announcement of a gig by "The Carnival Band" when I fired up my computer on Ash Wednesday morning, when everyone in my corner of the world was shakily recovering from the just-completed Carnival season.

Sorry I shall be missing this gig - hope you all have great evening. I may have lentil soup to support you from afar!.

Hope to be back in the fold next week.

Love,

Deirdre

Don't have too much Lentil Soup, otherwise we might feel the Draft. :-)

I've just realised that this will be English Old Time Music while the American Old Time Festival is happening only 5 miles up the road!

Brilliant! And a decent-sized audience who fully appreciated them - long time since I heard such sustained enthusiastic applause after EVERY number. Get 'em for the Festival Sooz.

Sorry couldn't be there, especially as it was so good. Did the Firewalk however and St Barnabas are £265 better off from people who sponsored me and overall perhaps £8,000 better off. 56 people took part.
Best wishes, Mike.

You missed a great night, Mike, but very well done for your fundraising efforts!
I was thinking the same, SJ.

We're sorry too to have missed them. We stayed in dog sitting. This is first time Dixie has stayed so could not leave her! Sounds like you had an excellent night. So if you book them for the Festival we
too can see them!
