Subject: BS: Spells that work From: TheBigPinkLad Date: 14 Feb 05 - 02:38 PM Do you know any spells that really work? If so please share. I'm putting together a chapbook of such things. They have to work though. For instance, these do: A spell to kill spiders - Draw a pentangle on the ledge of your hand. Whisper the word 'begone' thrice to the pentangle. Curl hand into a fist and bang the pentangle down hard on the spider. A spell to cheer someone up - Take three of four different kinds of flowers, greenery, etc. and form into a bunch. Wrap the bunch in gay-coloured paper and present it to the person you want to cheer up. Your spell must work within a year and a day of being cast, and must be testable. |

Subject: RE: BS: Spells that work From: skipy Date: 14 Feb 05 - 03:54 PM Work - spelt correctly - yes that seems to work! Skipy but there again if you spelt "work" "correctly" it word not work as you would write such things as "I'm off to correctly now, see you later" Skipy (aka wrong - thats "skipy" spelt "wrong") |

Subject: RE: BS: Spells that work From: Layah Date: 14 Feb 05 - 04:33 PM What is the difference in meaning between spelt and spelled then? "Was that word spelt correctly?" "Was that word spelled correcly?" Are those both good sentences? When do I use one and not the other? |

Subject: RE: BS: Spells that work From: GUEST,Bee-dubya-ell Date: 15 Feb 05 - 06:18 AM One meaning of "spell" is "a period spent in a job or occupation", so that would be a spell that works. But another meaning is "a period of rest from work", so that would be a spell that doesn't work. Now I'm even more confused than usual. |
