Subject: RE: Concertina Site? From: GUEST Date: 16 Feb 05 - 06:59 AM Concertina.net, as linked above, is a must for your interest in the instrument. While it is more oriented to the Anglo system and tunes, there is, nonetheless, a wealth of information on English and Duet systems and a fair amount on accompaniments. For the concertina and traditional English songs, look around here at Mudcat. There are many members who engage in such behaviour. When the regular Mudcat is back up, sign on as a member which will allow you to PM others for more details. Also, if you let us know where you live, we can put you in touch with folks in your area -- Tom |

Subject: RE: Concertina Site? From: GUEST,Bob Bolton Date: 16 Feb 05 - 07:15 AM G'day Geoff, A surprisingly good concertina site lurks under the title of The Maccann Duet Concertina Site. It's loaded with links and downloads of manuals, etc, for all systems of concertina. (I'm basically an Anglo player ... with a distant past flirtation with Maccann ... and a future puzzlement of English System.) The Maccann Duet Concertina Site Regards, Bob Bolton |

Subject: RE: Concertina Site? From: EBarnacle Date: 17 Feb 05 - 07:29 PM The links are back to being music. English is very easy. Nothing ever changes. Music stave lines are on the left, spaces are on the right. Sharps and flats are in the outside rows. Once your fingers learn it, you can play in any key. |
