This song is very local to Lake Saint Clair area: Michigan/Ontario. Was sung by my grandfather in early 1900s (and before?) The lyrics I remember are: "the wind he blow like a hurricane; the sou' wind she blow too"    and "you can't be drowned on the Lac St. Claire, so long's you stay ashore"

The song is "The Wood Scow Julie Plante," or "Julie Plante," of which there are several versions. One is printed in "Windjammers, Songs of the Great Lakes Sailors," with music and chords, pp. 157-158.
