It's amazing what you read in the quality press! Todays DT reports that if you type f---wit into google, the first site on offer is John Prescott's Official Web Site. It worked up to five minutes ago, so eithe no-one has told him, or he doesn't care!

Other than existing as a token sop to Old Labour, can anybody tell me what he has ever actually *done* to justify his position?

And incidentally, politicians have been having eggs, tomatoes, etc thrown at them for centuries without resorting to brawling, so there are no excuses for gutter behaviour. He's supposed to set an example.

John had boxed as a younger person and if you can face watching the clip you can see the obvious skill he brought to incident. A skill he has probably practiced in cabinet exchanges with Peter Mandelson and other Blairites - though not Tony himself.

And what does Prescott actually do in the Cabinet? Apart from coming up with plans to cover the south of England in concrete, you never see any matters of weight (apart from himself) emanating from his office. He's only there as a sop to the unions - New Labour use him to pretend that they still have links with their working class roots.....

Les - I also boxed as a younger person, but that doesn't make me want to lash out - (not often anyway!). He can't use the fact that he used to box as an excuse anyway, as any self respecting boxer should know how to control himself.

Please don't mention Brian London though - I seem to recall a well aimed head butt dropping the manager of one Johnny Prescott who had just beaten him. Not the same Prescott person we are talking about I would hasten to add.

a year or tow ago, he an interview on bbc radio 4 [today programme?]
he made a mess of it, he said "that was shit that, can we do it again?"
interveirerwer says "we are live Mr Prescott!".
