Is a clonehead and a shambles the same thing?

If by 'shambles' you mean a non-productive but ongoing non-issue, you may be right.

'Clonehead' in the US probably stems from the US Saturday Night Live a few years ago that had a family of cloneheads who were featured from time to time.

Ebbie - Don't you mean "conehead'?

My recollection of the Saturday Night Live 'Cloneheads' is that all they did was whine over the least little thing.

"Is a clonehead and a shambles the same thing?"

hard to say...I never remember knowing what a "shambles" was.

How DID you pick that name?

There is (or was) a lightship - the audible warning from this we could hear from where we rehearsed. We called the band The Shanbles after this lightship - which was anchored over a sloping offshore sandbank called the Shambles Bank.

The name shambles used to describe this sandbank - comes from a gently sloping tray that butchers used to use to display slaughtered meat on. These places can look a bit messy and perhaps how the word shambles came to mean disordered?

apparently shambles can also mean a place of carnage, the disordered meaning probably followed from that as perhaps did the butchers tray.

oh, ok! Suddenly it makes sense. I had not processed the word thru my mental thesaurus. Thanks, Roger...and creative...

The Shambles :

The name "Shambles" comes from the Saxon "Fleshammels", which means, "the street of the butchers", for it was here that the city's butcher's market was located. Notice the wide window sills of the houses; the meat for sale was displayed here.

Oi Shambles, would you mind awfully if one took the 100th post on one's thread? I wouldn't want to upset any sensitive souls who may have entered into an earnest high brow discussion on a folk/blues website!

Yes

'We' do mind awfully. 'We' all think that you are a bounder of the very worst sort and your subversive activities threaten this very edifice itself. Such intentionally offensive posts from a pathetic creature such as yours are only pandering for a validation - such as some sort of a response to what you say. You are only trying to be a martyr and when you have built your cross - 'we' will take great pleasure in comming along to hammer in that last nail for you.

Not that 'we' would like to sit in judgement or anything.....

*Smiles* Ted - if it make you happy - as far as I am concerned you can have every 100th post you wish to claim........

Shambles,

If you actually were to become a clone, what exactly would you change?
