I just found out today that Hazel Absalom, singer with Steel Bunny and Capriole amongst others, was killed in a diving accident in New Zealand in Feb.

She was well known on the UK scene as a morris dancer, singer, song & parody writer and general big bundle of fun.

I did try a search to see if a thread had already mentioned this, but the search facility is temperamental when entering via the back door, so sorry if I'm repeating.

I had no idea. This has come as a bit of a shock. I sing quite a few of her songs and always share a few drinks at Wareham and the Bournemouth Voice Tour. She will be sadly missed.

I forgot to mention, there is an obit in the Morris Federation Newsletter, where I first found the sad news.

I heard about this at the Bournemouth Voice Tour last month, because the surviving members of Capriole explained why they were singing as a duo. It came as an awful shock.
