another version of the wayback machine (Thank you mr.peabody!) - if you looked at some threads during the time we've "lost" you can try searching the internet cache on your workstation for a unique or nearly unique phrase contained in the thread. I just recovered a post to the Mystic Sea Music Festival that way.

I checked when Mudcat was down. The last entry in the Wayback Machine was Nov. 2004

Wayback gives lots of old pages, and fascinating stuff it is too - but not the ones whch Max reports missing - see here - http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.mudcat.org/threads.cfm

which popped up when i searched for the cat
while it was down taking a cat nap.
