Subject: Tech: Amazon Purchase for Mudcat? From: Vixen Date: 26 Jul 05 - 11:04 AM I tried to purchase something from the "Amazon.mudcat.org" link on the home page, and got a "page not found" error. I then went to "support the mudcat" and went to Amazon from the search window on that page. Will my purchase support the mudcat??? V |

There's a CD Universe search box under the Amazon box on the Support the Mudcat page (although the CD Universe graphic doesn't seem to be there, so it's hard to identify. If you access CD Universe through that link, your purchases should be credited to Mudcat, even if you use a gift certificate to pay. I suppose we never know for sure without a lot of tracking work, but that's the way the procedure is supposed to work. I do know that Max does get a statement from Mudcat when we make Amazon purchases through Mudcat. The Amazon percentage is pretty healthy, so it's a good idea to do it. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Tech: Amazon Purchase for Mudcat? From: GUEST Date: 27 Jul 05 - 07:53 PM That is a regular query on the Amazon bulletin board. The answer is that each national Amazon operation has a totally free standing affiliate scheme with no cross over. So if Mudcat is only registered with Amazon.com then you have to buy from that site and pay trans Atlantic postage for Mudcat to benefit. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Amazon Purchase for Mudcat? From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 27 Jul 05 - 08:07 PM Which would mean that Mudcat would have to be registered with the US, the UK, amazon.com.au, etc for all of us to participate easily. |
