Subject: RE: Who's Going to Tonder From: Freso Date: 08 Sep 05 - 01:24 AM I must admit I didn't see Capercaille, The Duhks or Tim O'Brien. I did have a look/listen at the originial flute player from Flook with his friends. Wow! I am simply amazed at what those people can do! (Two of the people he had brought were John Joe Kelly and Ed Boyd... I love Flook.) I also saw Gráda which I liked very much (bought their two recent most CDs, one being on right now!), but the ones I heard the most were "Young Folk Musicians Crossing The Borders" (or however that long, long name went), which consisted of some of the students from the Folk Music course at Odense Music Academy (of which I know most), plus some people from a school in England, one in Scotland, and one in Ireland. Can't remember the towns though. :/ I also saw Huset Gi'r En Omgang Friday night in the club tent, but, yeah. Mainly because they're friends of mine. :p
michaelr: I'm in the board of "Folkemusiksammenslutningen", which is an organisation to improve the public's impression of folk music, to communicate with politicians, and to improve the experience for musicians, arrangers and audience alike. More or less. |
