Knew that would get your attention! Actually I mean temperaturewise.
My darlin' Sheila absolutely generates heat, so much so that we only ever use a summer weight duvet no matter what the season, and sometimes in summer not even that.
She says it worries her, and she doesn't think she should be like that!
Anyone else out there? Then she won't feel as lonely.

I always run warmer than me spouse; if yer Sheila is measuring a temperature much more than 99 degrees F, all the time throughout the day, she might want to ask a physician about it. Otherwise I don't see that it's a problem.

I am! I have always been able to get/be warm in cold weather....good circulation, I guess. No cold feet or shivering. Makes me popular in certain circles...(MUCH smaller circles than earlier years.....*grin*)

I used to be sort of normal until I had a couple of babies, then I got hot. With me I guess it was a hormonal thing and I solved the problem by sleeping with my feet stuck out from beneath the covers, sort of like a heat sink.

I'm relatively on the cool side, so I prefer warmer covers in cool weather.

People do have different temperatures in bed. I only have light shhets regarless of how cold it gets, whilst my better half, currently away from the 'cat, ill :-( , is cold under winter blankets in midsummer.

There are various places that make blankets of different thicknesses for each partner, which sound useful...

I got hot in bed well before becoming menopausal, but I like the power surges analogy. I used to like having cold hands and feet, I figured it meant I had a warm heart. There's no hope for me now, I guess.

Was warned that I might experience cold feed when the doc put me on beta blockers, haven't noticed any difference still warm as toast in bed. Of course this because I am a man, and it's only women who have cold feet!!

My daughter sleeps much warmer than my son. So when they were little and shared I room I'd find in winter that he'd be covered over with a couple of blankets and she'd be tossing off the sheet. She was born in the hot time of year (late August) and he in the spring (early March). I've wondered if that had anything to do with their default temperature "settings."

Manitas is a night sweater.... I've always got warm extremities (can't make decent pastry to save my life) and I'm comfortably warm in bed, but he throws the duvet off himself and over me, so I wake up hot and crochety.

We are both of the age group where menopausal isn't an option.
Feet out from under the covers does help.

I get very warm in bed and the most I ever use is a summer weight duvet. I've been that way as long as I can remember. The feet out of the covers is a good trick.

However, Kendall has the AC on during the day - the sitting room is like a fridge - and that's just a touch too much on the cold side for me - I sit in the evenings in sweat pants and socks, even in the very hot weather we've had recently.

Well, it depends. Up in Juneau we both slept in the buff because it was soooooo bloody hot. But it was 47F here last night and the kivvers felt right good! Come winter, we'll use a wool blanket and the electric thingy that warms the bed (seperate controls, and it's not an electric blanket but something under us, not over).

It's undoubtedly me, except now and then when La Inglesa's internal thermostat goes haywire; but that is pretty rare. Which leads me to an observation:

On a quick scan-through, there seems to be a rather unusual number of females in this thread (either responding directly or by proxy) who "run hot". This goes counter to all I used to think I know about women having poorer circulation etc. It surprised me - until I realised that the average age of folkies these days is such that many of the females are battling with the "change"...

It used to be so nice, when I got hot feet (which is 99% of the time) to cool them against my partner's frozen tootsies - and feel I am doing her a favour too. But at our time of life, perhaps we should worry if that happens, just in case the partner's tootsies are frozen for the wrong reason.

OK, not funny, but I can't control the way my mind works.

Perhaps the age of the contributors is merely an indication of their lack of 'other' things to do, while the youngsters are mostly too busy 'doing their thing' to waste time talking about it on Mudcat. Remember the saying that was current in my youth,'The more they talk about 'it' the less they do it'! Don't forget George the we are a self selecting bunch of folks on here.

But this thread reminded me of the Jeff Foxworthy comedy routine in which he compared his relative temperature to that of his spouses rear end. Something like

"One of the coldest things in the world is a womans butt. And there is nothing more in the world she wants to do than get into bed and PUT IT ON YOU! Kind of like cuddling with a frozen turkey."

I guess you had to hear it live, but it was a hoot!
