Subject: Tech: Cleaning up DVDs From: Sorcha Date: 23 Sep 05 - 06:36 PM Is it easier to clean up background noise on a DVD than on a vid cassette? I have a wonderful vid of my gang, but LOTS of noise. Fella is supposed to be sending me a DVD...will he be able to clean it up more? |

Subject: RE: Tech: Cleaning up DVDs From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 23 Sep 05 - 07:40 PM 'Noise' can mean many things. Surface noise on the tape is one sort that may be filtered out. However 'noise' from the performance in the auditorium, such as excessive echo, etc is another matter and needs a different approach. It is better if the recording is made in a 'quality environment' to eliminate such problems, which is why sound studios are built the way they are. It MAY be possible to do something about some of the sound problems later, but an ounce of prevention, etc. Of course, one does not always have the luxury of getting a 'clean' environment. |
