Shameless self-promotion time! We'll be playing at the Roebuck in Hilderstone, Staffs tomorrow night (1st October) kick off about 9pm. We're also at Eccleshall Folk Club on Thursday 13th October. Hope to see some of our mudcat buddies there. See www.webfolk.net for details.

Had a great time in a session at Oakengates with Geoff and Tim, well worth a listen! Excellent music all round.

I hope they can make it to Banbury but, if not, there's always Bedworth.

Place names around the world often sound a bit odd to anyone not a local, and many have causal associations long since forgotten. A simple mind game of free associations with place names on first exposure can often produce a few chuckles. "Banbury" brought to mind a picture of a wee village with all their dearly departeds just laying about the place because burying was banned. Okay, that one's a bit obvious. "Bedworth" made me wonder about the spelling. Was there a terminal "y" accidently dropped? Now that could be a hillarious road to travel. :>)
