Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Gurney Date: 08 Nov 05 - 02:29 AM When I first met my wife, she used to wear a leather mini and knee boots. She would always get the job when she went to the interview in that outfit. Nice to see miniskirts are still around. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Paco Rabanne Date: 08 Nov 05 - 04:12 AM I wear the same outfit for the same reasons even today. Works every time! |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: mooman Date: 08 Nov 05 - 04:51 AM Haven't seen the Newcastle seasonal plumage variety but did encounter them (complete with bare midriffs) in various shapes and sizes not long ago on an extremely cold Durham winter's night... Hardy, those Durham/Geordie girls...! Peace moo |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Gurney Date: 08 Nov 05 - 04:54 AM Have to go along with SL there, Ted. Fishnets and hairy legs, Yech! (Never seen Ted's legs, but the picture that SL paints is not for the weak of stomach.) (And for the posters who thought this was a car thread, The Mini wasn't particularly draughty, but most of them leaked and smelled of rotting carpets. The best ever round corners though.) |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: GUEST,expert on minis Date: 08 Nov 05 - 08:57 AM When I was a lad my mother used to tell me to wear my long trousers on a cold day or I could get chaps on my legs....I suppose the mini skirted lasses are hoping to get a chap or two on theirs? |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Charmion Date: 08 Nov 05 - 09:30 AM Ah, you're a buncha weak sisters over there, lolling in the warmth of the Gulf Stream. You haven't tested yer mettle until you've braved an Ottawa day in January (minus 25 in the still air, minus God 'elp us with the wind chill) in fashionable togs! Fashion comes from Paris and Los Angeles. Around here, winter comes direct from Ellesmere Island! |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Paco Rabanne Date: 08 Nov 05 - 09:45 AM Which State is Ottawa in then? Are you anywhere near Canada? |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Lanfranc Date: 08 Nov 05 - 02:34 PM Mk I Minis had horizontally sliding windows on the passenger doors and didn't acquire wind-up windows for some years. I don't recall them being particularly draughty in either guise, but we were tougher back then. The new (BMW) Mini has electric windows and some even have air conditioning. How sybaritic! However, either vehicle is sufficiently low-slung that the sight of a young lady clad in the eponymous garment attempting ingress to either the driver's or passenger's seat is a deeply pleasurable sight to someone of my antiquity! Provided, of course, that the lower limbs that are revealed in all their glory are pleasingly shapely. Alan |

|
Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Gurney Date: 09 Nov 05 - 04:58 AM Miss Mini is an ageist! I have it on good authority that Lanfranc was NEVER accused of being a dirty YOUNG sod, although he was one! |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Liz the Squeak Date: 09 Nov 05 - 05:29 AM Do you remember the British Leyland Mini that came in that awful shitty shade of green with a hint of eek? LTS |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Lanfranc Date: 09 Nov 05 - 11:40 AM Gurney, you will be hearing from my solicitor! (It's too draughty for me to stand on street corners at my age, so I have to employ one!) Liz, there were some truly awful shades in the old BL Mini catalogue, and all were soon mingled with the tinge of ferrous oxide! Alan |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: GUEST,Miss mini herself Date: 09 Nov 05 - 12:51 PM I aint ageist-I love dirty old sods and dirty young sods. As long as they have cash of course |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 10 Nov 05 - 04:50 AM I am a tall person. I found that the secret of being comfortable while sitting in the back seat of a Mini was to cross my ankles. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Liz the Squeak Date: 10 Nov 05 - 04:57 AM Presumably around the back of your neck? Mind you, in my younger and thinner days, I did travel several miles on the parcel shelf of a Triumph Spitfire, the two seats being taken up by two men, both of whom were over 6ft tall. That was interesting. I doubt very much I could do it now.... and definately not sober! LTS |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Big Al Whittle Date: 10 Nov 05 - 06:27 AM cross ankles in the back of a mini..... that ones not in the kama sutra |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 10 Nov 05 - 06:36 PM I lost my virginity in the back of a mini - I was at the drive-in, I was young, I was excited, I was breathing heavily, I was uncomfortable, I was sweating, I was alone... no wait on, wrong memeory... |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Lanfranc Date: 11 Nov 05 - 06:27 PM At 6'4" and big with it (and that was just the girlfriend!), coitus in Mini was not an option. Managed it in a Mini Van and in an Austin A35, but broke the seat in the latter in flagrante delicto. Always with the windows closed and steamed up, so not draughty. "Don't go into the forest, girls, without your sump guards on" Alan |

Subject: RE: BS: Draughty minis From: Gurney Date: 12 Nov 05 - 05:01 AM Lanfranc, I have heard from your solicitor. She tells me you keep 85% of her money, and that you beat her if she forgets your dinner. I suspect she posts as 'Miss Mini Herself.' Re. Lanfranc's post of 6:27. Told you he'd been a dirty young sod! I could tell by the way he dotted his 'i'. My Minis were all white (originally), an 850, a traveller, and a 1071 Cooper S. |
