We have just recieved a copy of the DVD of the Utah Phillips/Kendall Morse concert last month.

The whole concert is on line at

The picture quality on line isn't good but will give an idea of what is there. The picture quality on the DVD is much better, although this is basically a field recording.

Right now we're looking into copying the DVD and/or putting it onto video tape. Once we get the technical aspect organised we will be selling copies, with a percentage of the price going to Mudcat funds.

Wow! the picture quality really sucks.
The mixing was pretty bad too, Utah's guitar was way too loud. I remember him when he could finger pick with the best, then he had that damn stroke.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I'm so glad I did it.

I'm still working on this at the moment as my PC, which has a DVD burner, doesn't seem to like the discs that I am trying to use. I shall be talking to the guys at Staples about what type of blank disc to use and, based on the cost of the discs, will confirm total cost ASAP.

We're off to the UK for three weeks from next week so probably won't get much done before then but it will be a major project on our return.

Hey we just watched Utah and yourself for almost two hours...
Very interesting subject matter for your stories.
You're lucky some animal protection group doesn't come and check out your well.

OK. I've just found out why I haven't been able to burn the DVD up to now. I was using DVD+R discs and needed DVD-R discs. So now I have disc #2 cooking nicely on the burner as I write.

Having done the calculations DVDs can be acquired for $15. Of that sum $5 will go to Mudcat. I do have a Paypal account but have never had money paid INTO it. If it is possible to pay in without too much aggravation (can anyone advise?) we will accept Paypal, cheques or cold hard cash if you can get it to us. Just PM me if you are interested.

The major part of production will be done when we return from the UK - I have still to look at labelling the actual discs and doing something with the jewel case and that all takes time.

I just put disc #3 into the burner......

As a general rule, DVD-R are the most widely compatible with other players, anyway, Jacqui. The +R and the RWs are later developments and some players choke on them. It's not the files but the initializing data structure on the disc. I dunno the details.
