Could this be a takeoff on "Old Cowhand From the Rio Grande"? OCFTRG is in the Digitrad, at least one version of it, but there have been parodies. The "Yippie i o, yippy i ay!" could also "Yippy Ki Yo, Yippy ki yay".

The original seems to date from about 1936 and has been recorded (and changed) by folks from Sinatra to Mercer to Harry Connick Jr.
