Glynis Help with concertina (Yorkshire) (22) RE: Help with concertina (Yorkshire) 12 Mar 04

Log on to 'Folkworks' website. They have an Absolute Beginners tuition day on lots of instruments, including concertina. They also have a week long summer school, again lots of different instruments to chose from, for young people and for adults. The day is in Ryton, Tyne and Wear, and the week is in Durham. Out of Yorkshire, I know, but both really good opportunities.

Get yourself on the Folkworks mailing list and be inspired.

If you PM me your email address/telephone number, I'll pass it on to a friend of mine, Chantal Noppen (daughter of Jill Noppen-Spacie referred to above) who is on the Folk Degree with me in Newcastle, lives in Yorkshire during the holidays and teaches concertina. She'll probably want to know where in Yorkshire you live and to what standard do you play - absolute beginner, learner, more advanced.
