Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, 1809-1847, can't possibly be the composer of the Sherburne we've been talking about in this thread because he wasn't even born when it was first published. Daniel Read published it in 1783. The information Q has is either about a different tune with the same name; is the same or a similar tune with its antecedents mixed up; or it's just plain wrong.
