To sum up my observations of 'traditional/futuristic sound', I relate to you the criticism of the sound engineer of an Irish band who shall remain nameless who stated that he thought that the band was "too diddley and not funky enough." Later a friend of mine reflecting on the conversation remarked, "It is my understanding that diddley is an aspect of Celtic music and funky is an aspect of African music. Brían
