"Sawmill Man" by Glenn Bolick of Lenoir NC. It's on that JEMF record I mentioned in the other thread (JEMF 110). The full citation on the album cover is as follows: Sawmill Man (Bolick) Glenn Bolick -- Bailey's Camp NR 11953-1 Lenoir, NC (1980) Existential. BMI 3:44 Loyal Jones' biography of Bascom Lamar Lunsford ("Minstrel of the Appalachians" University Press of Kentucky; 2002) has a huge amount of info on Bascon's recordings for the Library of Congress et al. The Southern Folklife Collection at the Wilson Library, UNC Chapel Hill, has more resources than you could ever use. I think the curator's name is Michael Jones, and if I'm wrong I apologise to him. He is a very helpful man.
