Hi Paul I have just been doing some more reading up on John Peel, and various versions of the song. I believe it became quite popular with cockneys at one point, of course many of them would not be familiar with John Peel, or the Lake District; in fact some of them thought he was a myth! Anyway, in the cockney version I saw it used 'Troutbeck' and 'once a day' in it.....maybe you have uncovered a manuscript of the version cockney's used to sing??? Rebecca
