I've found reference to the song on a website that sells sheet music! The song is "Where the Cross-Eyed Claras Grow" by Wynn Stanley, Andrew Allen and Lawrence Wright. The song dates back to 1920. "Ultimo", as sung by Lola Wright, is a parody of the song. her version is about a backyard abortion clinic.
