The John Maguire one quoted above by Jim reminds me of "The Ships Carpenters Wife" (which I first heard from Tony Holleran of East Galway, about 40 years ago) which starts:

A ships carpenter lived a few mile out of here
And he was rather too fond of the beer!
Bein' hard up for cash, sure as sure as me life
For ten shillins be auction he sold off the wife!

I'm sure there's a copy around here or in the DT but can't find it...
