In my opinion Quinn deserves everything he gets. He and his family gambled big time. They hoped to distort the state of the market and therefore to profit to the tune of billions, but their scheme backfired and bankrupted them. The bank they invested in was on the verge of collapse and the stupid fools in the treasonous Fianna Fail government at the time decided that the bank was too big to fail and issued guarantees. That guarantee is now costing the ordinary Irish taxpayers untold billions, it has brought untold misery to every ordinary citizen of this state. The cost is unemployment, emigration, cutbacks in education, health, reduced incomes, negative equity effecting countless thousands of young couples paying vast sums on mortgages for houses that are now worth one third of what they paid. Houses that will never attain values anywhere close to what they paid for them. And Quinn and family think that they shouldn't have to pay, they are the ones who freely chose to use their assets as collateral for their massive loans to illegally buy shares in the bank. Then when it comes time to pay off their gambling debt they involve themselves in an unlawful scheme to remove their assets so that the taxpayers who were forced to pay for the guarantee on the bank take the full hit and leave the "poor" Quinns holding on to their assets. They gambled, they lose, but you only have to look around this nation to see the misery that has arisen as a result of the greed of all the shisters that were the cheerleaders for the so called Celtic tiger that turned out to be the biggest property bubble ever seen. I'd better stop my missive because I feel the anger rising in me when I think of all the decent honest Irish citizens (including my own children and grandchildren) that will be paying for this debacle for generations to come. Quinn is getting off lightly.
