Uncle_DaveO Tech: Trouble with 'Gadgets' in Windows 7 (3) Tech: Trouble with 'Gadgets' in Windows 7 09 Mar 15

My Beautiful Wife's desktop computer, an HP 8000 SFF,
operates under Windows 7, and in the past we have been
pleased with the windows Gadgets, the Windows 7 icon
programs that are set up on the Desktop. We use(d)
the Time, the Calendar, and the Weather gadgets for
quite a long time, quite satisfactorily.

Suddenly, recently, the Weather gadget, upon being
dragged to the Desktop, just remains blank blue, without
any report. Another computer (mine, a Lenovo desktop
machine) in the same room, also running Windows 7, still
gets that weather service just fine, but my wife's
desktop gets the blank-and-then-disappearing icon.

I have been unable to diagnose the problem, or even to
keep the weather gadget on the screen on her machine.
Which is an HP 8000 Small Form Factor, for whatever
that's worth. The gadget used to be okay, but not now.

Do any of you good gurus know what's wrong, or what to do
about it?

Here's some parameters of this machine, which might be of help
