I'm surprised that as many people as that have them unless "have access" means going to your neighbour's house. It may be a loose definition of "smart", of course. I had a very good Samsung TV for a good few years which wasn't "smart" but it did have USB and HDMI ports. So, all you needed to do was either connect a cable or a "firestick" etc. So, it would have done fine for this situation. The only reason I replaced it was that some white dots (caused by reflector caps falling of the back of the pixels)had begun to appear on the screen. Uneconomical to have repaired by an engineer and too much of a bother to do myself. However, it's still handy to watch in the spare room.
