I bought it during lockdown for singing over zoom, and since used it to record myself playing concertina, connected to an Android App called 'Easy Voice Recorder'. It did those jobs OK.

I don't know how it would get on in a session. A bit obtrusive, perhaps. You could place it on a pub table and angle it towards you. I think you might want a remote control to start and stop recording.
