Blake, I too remember that song from childhood. It's actually the chorus of a song by someone named Tom, possibly Glaser but I'm not sure. It's in a children's songbook my mother has. The first verse starts, "This is for the children who haven't been on the train./ (Something) California all the way to Maine." As for the chorus, Alison's version of the first line is correct.
