I think everyone has a story about when they first saw Bernard - in my case, when he toured through Tamworth with Eric Bogle - about 1990 I think. With a support act, everyone usually politely tolerates them until the main act comes on. In Bernard's case, no-one wanted him to finish! Like everyone else, I rushed out during the break, and bought some of his records. I have been a keen fan ever since. The nonchalant ease with which he plays ragtime, the wonderful blend of thought-provoking, funny, sad and loving songs, all leave you feeling sated in all your emotions. Congratulations Bernard!
