SLEW FOOT MAMA
(Wilds-Leyan-Smith)
As recorded by Jam-up and Honey (Dot Records #1089, released 1952)

That's my gal; she's got me on the line,
That slew-footed mama and she's mine, all mine.

Now gather round me, people; won't you listen to me?
All about a gal from Tennessee:
King-sized mama by the name of Bess,
But {a very sad number}, I'll confess.

{...} mama nearly seven feet tall,
Sleeps in the kitchen with her feet in the hall,
And in between her little head and feet
Is three hundred pounds of solid meat.

That's my gal; she's got me on the line,
That slew-footed mama and she's mine, all mine.

She got one black eye and the other one blue.
Hair is false and her teeth are too.
Arms like a blacksmith, feet like a ham,
She's stubborn as a mule from Alabam'.

Now she ain't so handsome and she don't dress fine.
She's kind of a gal that takes her time,
Built for comfort and not for speed,
But a lot more mama than I'll ever need.

That's my gal; she's got me on the line,
That slew-footed mama and she's mine, all mine.

She got a under-slung jaw and her mouth is mum,
{Thought} out o' joint from chewin' gum,
A hump on her back and one cork leg,
A wart on her neck like a big hen egg.

When she was a baby her {ears could talk}.
Her folks couldn't tell if she'd fly or walk.
A turned-up nose and plumb out o' chin,
But a mighty good mama for the shape she's in.

That's my gal; she's got me on the line,
That slew-footed mama and she's mine, all mine.
