Steve....As Susan-Marie said the catfish is very popular here in the states, especially in the midwest and south. The Mississippi River is home to some big ones...and also closely related to the musical styles developed here as travellers migrated up and down the river, often referred to as the "Big Muddy." Memphis was a natural mid point where styles of several cultures mixed and is often considered the home of the blues, R&B, and Rock. The mud flats along that stretch of river are well known.
